July is one of those months that reminds us how quickly the year moves. The crop is in the ground, county fairs are beginning, and our team is already turning its attention toward harvest planning while continuing to serve members across agronomy, feed, grain, energy, and retail operations.
So far, much of our trade area has benefited from generally favorable growing conditions. While there are still many weeks between now and harvest, fields across the region are showing promise. As always, Mother Nature will have the final say, but it is encouraging to see the potential that is developing in our members’ fields.
This time of year also provides an opportunity to recognize the next generation of agriculture. Over the coming weeks, thousands of young exhibitors will be showcasing livestock projects, participating in fair activities, and representing their families and communities. The dedication, responsibility, and work ethic demonstrated by these young people continues to be one of the things that gives me the greatest confidence in the future of agriculture. On behalf of Premier Cooperative, thank you to the parents, grandparents, leaders, and volunteers who help make those opportunities possible.
While summer activities are in full swing, our employee team is also preparing for the busy months that lie ahead. Grain facilities, agronomy locations, feed mills, energy departments, retail stores, and service centers are all working to ensure we are ready to support your operation when harvest and fall demand arrive. The investments we make in our people, facilities, and equipment are only possible because of your continued support of the cooperative.
As many of you know, we are now in the final month of pulling together the merger with Farmers Union Cooperative. Both organizations remain committed to a thoughtful process focused on creating long-term value for members, employees, and the communities we serve. We look forward to sharing these updates and many more with our new members beginning next month.
Thank you for choosing Premier Cooperative. Whether you’re growing crops, raising livestock, managing a business, or supporting agriculture in another way, we appreciate the trust you place in us. We remain committed to helping our members succeed while preserving the cooperative values that have guided Premier for more than 130 years.
Have a safe and enjoyable summer, and best of luck to everyone participating in fairs and other community events throughout our trade area.
